Saturday Sports Update
Top: Buffalo Bills fans, get used to these two players for a while. On Friday, the Bills parted ways with wide receiver Sammy Watkins and cornerback Ronald Darby in two separate trades. In return, they acquired Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews (left) and Los Angeles Rams cornerback E.J. Gaines (right), along with two draft picks in 2018. Matthews had three productive seasons in Philadelphia, catching 225 passes for 2,673 yards and 19 touchdowns. Gaines appeared in 26 games in two seasons for the Rams, starting all but one of them. Bottom left: Some dire news for Dallas Cowboys fans. Last year's leading rusher, Ezekiel Elliott, has been suspended for the first six games of the regular season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. The suspension was announced Friday following a lengthy investigation into a domestic abuse incident involving Elliott and his girlfriend. Photo by USA Today
Bottom right: Aaron Hicks celebrates with Brett Gardner after hitting a two-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning in the New York Yankees' game with the Boston Red Sox on Friday. The two-run blast sparked a five-run inning for the Bronx Bombers, who erased a 3-0 deficit and defeated the Red Sox 5-4. The win moved New York to within 3 1/2 games of Boston in the American League East race. Photo by Newsday
