A Brocton man was arrested Sunday morning after a number of drug and drug-making materials were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation on Adams Street in Silver Creek around 3:45 AM. Officers say that the driver, 34-year-old David Topliffe, was found to have suspended driving privileges in New York State. Further investigation and a search of Topliffe's vehicle found that he was allegedly in possession of powdered methamphetamine, meth processing materials, scales, prescription narcotic pills, and a quantity of marijuana. Topliffe was charged with felony criminal possession of methamphetamine precursors, two counts of 7th-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, 2nd-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana, and failure to signal a turn. He was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
