The top elected official in the City of Dunkirk is disappointed that Fredonia village officials will no longer be pursuing a combined police facility with the city. Mayor Willie Rosas says he believes such a project would benefit both communities and that they had a potential site in mind. Fredonia trustees and Mayor Athanasia Landis discussed the issue during a workshop Tuesday night and determined that having a combined policey facility will be too costly. She cited concerns that include finances, quality of service, and salaries and benefit differentials between the two police departments.
