A Gowanda man is facing a felony marijuana possession charge after an investigation by Gowanda Police and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. Gowanda Police say that 36-year-old Charles Smith has been charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the 2nd degree after he allegedly received quantities of marijuana through a private mail carrier to his business at 185 Buffalo Street in Gowanda The packages were apparently being shipped in his decreased brother's name. During the execution of a search warrant, police recovered a package that was delivered Monday that contained nearly 3.5 pounds of marijuana. $2,300 in cash was also seized as evidence.
