A Bemus Point man was taken into custody on Monday after allegedly issuing a bad check several months ago. In September, State Police in Jamestown received a complaint from a local business claiming that 29-year-old Matthew Mecusker gave them a check for over $2,500 in June that came back returned. Attempts to get Mecusker to pay the balance were unsuccessful, and he was arrested on a warrant after refusing to turn himself in. Mecusker was arraigned in North Harmony Town Court on one count of issuing a bad check, then was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
