With the Chautauqua County Fair officially set to open on Tuesday, the Fair's Board of Directors will offer a public preview today, July 18. The gate price will be $5 with free parking. No passes will be accepted. A New York State harness race will be held at 2 pm at the grandstand, with open class and 4-H animal shows taking place in the animal arenas. Floral Hall will be also open as well as food vendors and the commercial building. At 6 pm, Shakespeare on the Lake will present "The Taming of the Shrew" at the Arthur Maytum Family Theater. The Fair Board says the midway will not open until Tuesday at 4 pm.
