Courtney L. Ziemba, age 22, of Fredonia, NY, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 17, 2014.
Courtney was born October 15, 1992 in Rochester, NY to Allen M. Ziemba (Karen) of Fredonia, NY and Michelle Woodward of Buffalo, NY. She was a graduate of Fredonia High School, Class of 2010. While at Fredonia High School, she lettered in volleyball and track & field. She competed in Section VI championships and the Empire State Games in the discus and shot put.
Courtney was employed as a nurse's assistant at St. Vincent's Home in Dunkirk. Courtney was a kind, caring, compassionate young woman, who possessed a great sense of humor, always making those around her laugh and feel comfortable. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Besides her parents, she is survived by sisters, Erin M. Ziemba of Jamestown, NY, Corrie A. Keenan of Virginia Beach, VA, and Katie Ziemba of Sarasota, FL; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Ziemba; several aunts, uncles, and nieces and nephews, who called her "Aunt Coco."
Calls may be made Sunday, October 19 from 4-7 p.m. at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Church, Cushing St. corner of Orchard St., Fredonia, N.Y., Monday at 10 a.m. (please assemble at Church)
