Philip S. Campbell

Philip S. "Phil" Campbell, 65, of Washington Street, Olean, passed away, Friday, April 17, 2015 at Olean General Hospital. He was born November 15, 1949 in Wellsville, NY, the son of the late Edwin M. and H. Victoria Case Campbell.

Mr. Campbell was a graduate of East High School in Auburn, NY. He received his Bachelors in Education from the State University of New York at Geneseo and received his law degree from Nova University Shepard Law School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. For many years, he worked at various Agway Farm Stores, lastly in Watertown, NY. He had an interest in history, enjoyed doing puzzles, boating, building model ships and was an avid reader and loved music.

He is survived by a sister; Victoria L. Campbell of East Bethany, NY, his fiancee; Jo Ann Lepore of Olean, his mother-in-law; Ellen Bald and her daughter Joann of Randolph, a step daughter; Marissa Blackburn of Wilkesbarre, Pa and five nieces and nephews; Joy Crocker, Jill Crocker, Jeannette Plymale, James "Jed" Crocker and Joanne Kolberg. In addition he is survived by life long friends; Margaret and Dan (Nick) Lepak and Tom and Lana Hitchcock. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Dr. Christine Campbell; and his longtime companion, Janet Bald.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25 in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street in Randolph, from where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM Saturday. Rev. Thomas Broad, Rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Randolph will officiate. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery in North Tonawanda, NY. Memorials may be left to Grace Episcopal Church in Randolph or to the Chautauqua County Humane Society.
