Daniel "Mono" Rivera, 61, of Dunkirk, NY died quietly in his sleep on February 4, 2016. He was born on February 21, 1954 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and came to Dunkirk, NY in 1980, where he resided until his death.
Daniel worked most of his life on the grape farms. He was a very happy man and very well known in the community, with hundreds of friends. His friends nicknamed him "Mono." He was always surrounded by family and friends.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Santa Rivera; his children, Daniel and Melissa Rivera; three brothers, Israel, Manuel and Samuel Rivera; three sisters, Isabel Morales, Elsa and Gregoria Rivera; several stepchildren; grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Carmen and Catalino Rivera.
Calls may be made Monday, February 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, NY, where funeral services will follow at noon. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Dunkirk, NY. Arrangements by David J. Dengler.
