Gary B. Olmstead, 68, of Collins, NY passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016. He was born August 7, 1948 in Silver Creek, NY, the son of the late Myrl and Virginia (Lucas) Olmstead.
Mr. Olmstead is survived by his loving wife, Mary Rasmusson.
He was a Union Carpenter with the Local 66. He was a member of the Eden Rod and Gun Club, Gowanda Gun Club, NRA and medaled at the NYS Skeet Competion. He was an avid outdoorsman and social member of the Gowanda VFW.
Mr. Olmstead is predeceased by a brother, Randy Olmstead. Besides his wife, he is survived by cousins and his cats.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at 4 p.m. at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main Street, Gowanda, NY. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Eden Rod and Gun Club.
