Randolph A. "Randy" Cave, 61, of Irving passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at his residence.
Randy was born on January 22, 1955 in Dunkirk, son of the late Leo Cave and Joan (Jemison) Mosier. A lifelong area resident, Randy was a self-employed carpenter. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from June 5, 1973 to June 7, 1975. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, playing scratch-off tickets, shooting pool, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Randy is survived by his mother, Joan (Jacob) Mosier of Brocton; two sons, Michael (Erin) Cave of West Seneca and Robert (Sarah) Cave of Fredonia; a brother, Lance (Shirley) Cave of Brocton; two sisters, Bonnie Cave and Laura (Wayne) Hartinger of Irving; a stepbrother, Bryan (Marlene) Mosier of Alabama; and a stepsister, Beth (Mike) Lynch of Pennsylvania. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and his Fox Terrier "Bernard."
There will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Randy's Life will be held on his birthday, Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. at the Samuel Cimino VFW Post #6472, 13 Main St., Silver Creek.
The family suggests memorial contributions in Randy's memory be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, NY 14048.
