Mr. Steven Schuman, 64, of Fredonia died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, following a brief illness. Born February 2, 1953 in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank "Bruds" and Virginia "Ginny" Guiseppe Schuman.
Mr. Schuman was a lifelong student at SUNY Fredonia.
He loved baseball, history, world politics and his family and friends. He received his medallion for completing 32 successful years with AA. He offered the gift of sight by being an organ donor.
Surviving are two sisters, Suzanne Dietz and Sharon (James) Edwards, both of Salamanca; a brother, Scott Schuman of Salamanca; several nieces and nephews, Melanie (Jason) Hamilton, Dakota (Ciaran) Hamilton and Noah Hamilton, all of Cypress, TX, Ashlee Schuman and Courtney Paramenter, both of Salamanca, Nick (Sierra) and Keegan Fuller of Rochester, and Nolan and Kyler Edwards, both of Salamanca.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Dunkirk/Fredonia area at a time to be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca.
