Sharon M. Homokay

Sharon M. Homokay, 75, of Silver Creek passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2018 at Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 17, 1942 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Henry Jr. and Jean (Mallaber) Perkins.

Sharon graduated from Forestville High School in 1960. She worked as a hairdresser for the Studio Beauty Salon in Dunkirk for many years.

Sharon was an artist who enjoyed painting. She was also an avid golfer and liked to plant flowers in her garden. Most importantly, she was a homemaker for her daughters and grandchildren.

She lived in the Western New York area all of her life, and gifted her body to the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Surviving are her two daughters, Marcy (John Bailey) Sweetman of Silver Creek and Molly (John Jr.) Merrill of Arkwright; four grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew Sweetman, Emily and Nathan Merrill; also survived by a sister, Patricia (Phil) Schultz of Silver Creek; and her former husband of 45 years, Gaynor S. Homokay of Silver Creek.

Friends may call at the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek on Friday, April 27 from 5-8 pm, from where a memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28 at 11 am.
